Winner: Honda Accord Tourer After knocking the Volvo V70 off its perch last year, the Honda Accord Tourer was always going to be hard to shift - and so it proved. Our judges continue to love its combination of looks, space, performance and price. So, it takes the prize for the second year running.

Winner: Jaguar XJ Contrary to popular belief, German brands don't always have a monopoly on prestige and luxury. And the XJ proves it. While BMW took top honours in both the compact exec and executive categories, our judges couldn't look beyond Coventry's finest in the large car sector.

Winner: Mazda MX-5 Affordable and fun - that's the winning combination which makes the Mazda MX-5 hard to beat. And so it proved again this year, as the little two-seater retained its title as the best second-hand roadster.

Winner: BMW 5-Series What a comeback! The 5-Series last triumphed in the executive car category in 2005, and it's back on top once more. The Mercedes E-Class won in 2004 and Audi's A6 took the crown last year, which just goes to show how competitive this particular market sector is.

Winner: Audi A4 Cabriolet The A4 continues to reign supreme among second-hand four-seater drop-tops. If anything, the decision to name it the victor for the third year running was made even easier, because CC-style convertibles are proving just as susceptible to the seasonal shift in values that afflicts traditional soft-tops.

Winner: Vauxhall Zafira After an absence of two years, the practical Vauxhall is back at the top. Why? Well, it's all down to the huge selection on the used market and the tremendous value for money they offer. The judges considered only seven-seat models for the title, hence the absence of the Ford C-MAX. And you can blame the Zafira for that, because when it hit showrooms in 1999, it rewrote the rulebook on what makes a good compact people carrier.

Winner: Nissan 350Z Looks and performance count for plenty in the coupé category, which explains why the Nissan comes out on top. Few cars at any price handle as well as the 350Z, and the futuristic styling manages to tick all the right boxes, too.

Winner: Kia Sedona That's four for the big Kia! The Sedona has won a quartet of titles in our Used Car Honours, and its top-place finish was never in any serious doubt this year.

Winner: Nissan X-Trail X marks the spot in the SUV category, thanks to the Nissan X-Trail. The chunky off-roader is getting on, but it still reigns supreme as the ultimate used SUV by combining decent on-road manners with genuine off-road capabilities.

Winner: Porsche 911 It has been suggested that we change the name of this category to the ‘Porsche 911 award', but you can't blame our panel for picking last year's winner again this time around. After all, finding something else which offers the model's terrific blend of performance, style, everyday potential and security is virtually impossible.
